It’s Monday and a great day of the week to start a new book. Learn how to make a cool bookmark to go with your latest read. They’re so fun to make. You’ll want to create more than one.

Here are the supplies you will need:

Supplies to make bookmark

Materials:

Gelli plate

Paper for printing

Cardstock

Acrylic paint or ink

Stamps

Stamp pad

Ribbon

Glue

Scissors

Ruler

Hole punch

Instructions:

Step 1: Make your Gelli printed papers (see the website at the end of the post for instructions) or if you already have some Gelli print papers, select the ones you wish to use for bookmarks.

Step 2: Decide on the size of your bookmark. I made my background paper 7.5 cm x 15 cm and my Gelli print paper 6 cm x 14 cm.

Step 3: Glue the printed paper to the background cardstock.

Step 4: Stamp a design onto the printed paper.

Step 5: Punch a hole in the top about a quarter inch down

Step 6: Thread a piece of ribbon through the hole and tie.

Viola! You have a beautiful homemade bookmark.

Enjoy crafting these bookmarks and reading the next great book on your list.

Peace,

Kathy (Nature Mamaw)

Here’s a great website for learning about printing with Gelli plates. She gives instructions on making your own plates, and lessons on printmaking.
