SEED BALL UPDATE

Investigation Seed Ball: Update

Last week we started an investigation of seed balls, clay and torn paper.

When the seed balls were dry, I put them on top of some soil in a container. If you threw them into your yard, they would land on top of the soil.

I watered each seed ball with the same amount of water.  Do you know why I did that?

Here is what they looked like after 1 day of watering. Next week, I’ll show you what they looked like after 7 days of water.

Can you see any sprouts yet?

I tried to get a close-up of the seed balls on the right which are the paper seed balls with radishes. Can you see the tiny sprouts on the seeds to the right of the seed ball?

So, after 1 day of watering the results are

CLAY SEED BALLS-no sprouts yet

PAPER SEED BALLS-1 sprout each on the radish seed balls

If you are doing this experiment, what are your results?

Have a great day! And happy investigating!!

Peace,

Nature Mamaw
